The Read

Users adore the one-tap logging and the streak flame — it's the reason they stay. But the last three updates broke iCloud sync for a loud minority, and losing a 200-day streak to a sync bug is the single biggest driver of 1-star reviews. Widgets are the most requested feature by far; several users say they'd upgrade to paid just for them.

The most praised interaction across every storefront — users log habits in seconds and credit it for their streaks.

Since v4.2, a subset of users report streaks resetting after reinstall or on a second device. Drives nearly all recent 1-star reviews.

“Lost my 214-day streak after the update. Heartbroken.”

The dominant feature request — users want to log and see streaks without opening the app.

USE CASES

Six ways people use it

Validate before you build

Found an app proving the demand? Its reviews are a spec sheet: what users tolerate, what they hate, and the gaps they beg someone to fill.

Watch a competitor

Run their app monthly. New high-severity complaints are your opening; their most-loved features are your table stakes.

Fix your own app

Skip scrolling App Store Connect. Get complaints ranked by severity and frequency, and know exactly what the next update should say it fixed.

Write store copy that converts

The words users repeat in 5-star reviews are your screenshots, subtitle, and keywords. Loved-theme cards are ASO copy, pre-written by your market.

Pick your next market

A 4.8 in the US and a 3.9 in Germany is a localization bug wearing a rating. Country-level ratings show where the product travels — and where it breaks.

Diligence in 20 seconds

Buying an app, funding one, or taking a client? A review read shows churn drivers and update quality faster than any pitch deck will admit.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What data does App Review Analysis use?

Publicly available App Store data: country-level ratings from 15 storefronts and the most recent customer reviews. Nothing scraped behind a login, nothing private.

How many reviews does one analysis read?

The free plan reads ~50 of the most recent reviews and shows your top 5 countries. Pro reads ~150 reviews — deliberately weighted toward critical reviews, where the product signal lives — across all 15 storefronts.

Who is this for?

Indie developers validating an idea, teams researching a competitor, and founders deciding what to build next. If an app already proves the demand, its reviews tell you exactly how to do it better.

Is it free?

One full analysis per day is free — a complete report, no sign-up. Pro removes the daily limit, reads 3× more reviews per report, and covers all 15 storefronts.

I'm not a developer — is this useful for me?

Very. Regular users run it to pick between similar apps before downloading: the report shows which one has the ad complaints, the lag complaints, or the subscription traps — straight from other users' reviews. The Compare page puts 2-3 candidates side by side.

Does it cover an app's entire review history?

No — and no public tool can. Apple's public feed exposes only an app's most recent reviews (roughly 500 per storefront); full history requires App Store Connect access, which only the app's own developer has. Every report states the exact date window it read, and complaint themes are tagged NEW (clusters in recent versions) vs LONGSTANDING so you can tell a fresh regression from a long-accepted design choice.

Do you support Google Play?

Not yet — the App Store first, done properly. Play Store support is on the roadmap; tell us via the contact page if you need it and we'll prioritize accordingly.

How fresh is the data?

Every report is generated on demand from the most recent reviews at that moment. Reports are cached for 24 hours; Pro re-analyses always pull the latest.

Reviews are the rawest product feedback there is.

Read any app's in 20 seconds — yours, a competitor's, or the one you're about to build a better version of.
